The current focus is on the Israeli aggression over the Gaza Strip. However, Israel has also increased its aggression against Palestinians in the Occupied West Bank. On October 5, 2023, the Defence of Children International-Palestine declared 2023 to be the deadliest year for children in the West Bank. At that point, 47 children had been killed. By the end of the year, UNICEF reported a total of 124 children were killed in the West Bank in 2023. This means that 77 children were killed during the 3 month period of October to December alone. Generally, Israel does not deploy bombs in the West Bank. The majority of these children were killed by targeted gunfire.
