Dunia - She lost her parents, her leg, and her life
Dunia was with her parents when her home was bombed. The blast killed her parents and led to her needing an emergency amputation of her leg. Dunia needed emergency medical care outside of the country, as hospitals in Gaza are operating at a limited capacity. She had to wait for approval from Israeli and Egyptian authorities for medical travel.
On December 17, as she lay in her hospital bed in Khan Younis (South Gaza), a tank shell broke through the wall next to her bed and killed Dunia instantly. That tank shell was paid for by YOUR tax dollars, courtesy of the US government, who approved an emergency state measure to send 14,000 rounds of tank ammunition to Israel.
Imagine that? The homelessness epidemic in our country is not deserving of emergency funding, but sending ammunition to be used against children is.
