On January 13, 2024, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced that there are only 6 functioning ambulances left in Gaza. Can you imagine 6 ambulances to serve over 2 million people? The Israeli army has blown up ambulances, even when the Red Cross communicated their medical use and shared their route in advance. The army also prevents ambulances from traveling to the scene of an airstrike or injuries. In the infamous case of journalist Samer Abudaqa, he was shot and left to bleed out for five hours as paramedics were threatened by the army if they approached him.
