28 Days

Due to the siege imposed on Gaza by Israel starting in early October, the limited amount of menstrual supplies available in Gaza quickly ran out. At the beginning, women were taking birth control pills in an effort to delay their monthly cycle. Some women have resorted to cutting pieces of their tent to use in lieu of pads during their cycle. Additionally, the availability of public bathrooms is extremely limited due to the severe damage to the majority of infrastructure in Gaza. People are forced to line up for hours to use a public bathroom. The lack of menstrual products and lack of access to bathrooms has resulted in an increase of bacterial infections among women especially. Imagine being a 12 year old girl and getting your first period in this environment? The average menstrual cycle for a woman is 28 days. How many menstrual cycles have passed since this current Israeli aggression started?
